Two days of amazing live music by eight nationally touring bands of various genres is what’s on the setlist for Mustang Spring Jam 8, which will be held the weekend of May 18-19 at Mike Dianna’s Grill Room in Corolla.
Improvisational rock band Ghost Lightt will headline Mustang Spring Jam 8. The newly formed band brings together five unique artists to create a rich cross-pollination on the musical spectrum, and features uber talented pianist Holly Bowling and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s guitarist/vocalist Tom Hamilton.
Folk wave band Emma’s Lounge will open for soul, rock, jam band Travers Brothership to kickoff Spring Jam on the evening of Saturday, May 18. After the two Asheville bands play on the deck stage at Mike Dianna’s Grill Room, the event will move across the street to Sundogs Raw Bar & Grill for funky, dance-inducing soul music by Charlotte, NC’s DownTown Abby & The Echoes.
On Sunday, May 19, Ghost Light will headline a full day of live music that opens with performances by student bands from the Mustang Outreach Program.
Making their triumphant return to Corolla, Virginia’s Roosterfoot is set to play their second show since 2017 at Spring Jam, bringing a blend of rock, gospel and blues to the event.
Other bands playing the two stages at Mustang Spring Jam 8 on Sunday are Charleston, SC’s indie hip-hop group Little Stranger, high energy rock n’ roll band Andrew Scotchie & the River Rats from Asheville, NC, Downtown Abby and The Echoes, and the Outer Banks’ blues band Mojo Collins and Triple Vision.
Sunday evening will conclude at Sundogs with a late night show featuring space age folk music by Emma’s Lounge.
Mustang Spring Jam 8 two-day tickets are $35 in advance and $40 day of show. Saturday single day tickets are $10. Sunday single day tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of show. Children 12 and under are free.
A limited number of advance only VIP Weekend tickets are available for $149 and include five beverage tickets, a 3-course dinner Saturday plus a fantastic brunch and delectable dinner Sunday. Advance only VIP tickets for Sunday are available for $109 and include three beverage tickets, a fantastic brunch and a delectable dinner. Both VIP packages include exclusive access inside Mike Dianna’s Grill Room, indoor restrooms, a private bar, early access inside the venue, plus priority access to the after parties at Sundogs.

A portion of the event proceeds will go to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and the Mustang Outreach Program. The Corolla Wild Horse Fund protects, conserves, and responsibly manages the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks. The Mustang Outreach Program supplements the cultural arts programs in local schools with world-class music performances, residencies and mentoring programs.
