The OBHBA 26th Annual Parade of Homes is set to open October 4 – 7, 2018. It is a Parade unlike any other tour you have attended – not only because of the sheer beauty of its coastal setting on about 65 + miles of our beautiful Outer Banks, but because of the diversity of this year’s offering of select homes. This is a scattered site tour, self-guided by you with your map in the center of the Parade magazine (or your GPS), allowing you to pace yourself and enjoy four relaxed, wonderful autumn days with us. If you only have a day or two, you can still choose the pace and the homes that most interest you.
Our participating builders and our local REALTOR® members are always happy to assist you and discuss your best options for investment, relocation as a year-round resident, or in transitioning to retirement – or just becoming the owner of a true second home where you can get away from it all whenever you wish. You will be able to personally experience the entire spectrum of homes – from cute and cozy starter homes to those with too many bells and whistles to count.
The majority of our builders on the Outer Banks have many years of coastal building experience and know how to choose products that hold up best in our sometimes harsh coastal climate as well as those which least impact our fragile environment. The incorporation of smart product options and green features, combined with our members’ commitment to the structural integrity of a home is evident in the finished product that is not only efficient, practical and durable, but eye-catching and attractive as well.
When you purchase your ticket at any of the homes or from a sponsor’s location, you will receive the Parade of Homes magazine, containing all the information about the builders, their homes and the products. In the center of the magazine you will find a detailed map to help you locate and visit all the homes. The entire tour will also be posted by Labor Day weekend on this site. Your $10 ticket is good for all four days of the tour and proceeds benefit the local food pantry and other local charitable efforts. Take your time, talk with the builders and their representatives in the homes and most of all, enjoy your time in the Outer Banks!
