Saturday, January 30th marks the 38th year that the Frank Stick Memorial Art Show opens its doors to the public and invites viewers to see the newest creations of local artists. Join us for a reception from 6p.m. – 8p.m. featuring live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and some of the most exceptional artwork on display in Dare County. The show is sponsored by Dare County Arts Council and hosted by Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery, located at 210 E. Driftwood Street in Nags Head. The largest fine art exhibition of local art in the county, the Frank Stick Memorial Art Show will run through February 27th.
Dates for delivery of artwork are January 26th or January 27th between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m at the Dare County Arts Council in Downtown Manteo.
Judge for the 2016 FSMAS is Scott Eagle, who serves as the Assistant Director of the School of Art and Design, Graduate Studies Director, and Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. His artworks have been exhibited and reproduced internationally. Scott was selected by Creative Quarterly Magazine as one of their top 100 creatives for 2013. He works in a wide variety of medias including digital and is especially interested in the idea of the creative act as thinking through making.
